This document explains how AI companies are ranked based on financial and organizational markers.
Ranking Categories
🏆 4 - AI Titan (Unicorn Graduate)
A company is an AI Titan if it meets at least one of the following:
- Has a valuation of $50 billion or more.
- Has a valuation of $10 billion or more, is profitable, and has at least $5 billion in annual revenue.
🦄 3 - Unicorn
A company qualifies as a Unicorn if it has a valuation of $1 billion or more and meets at least one of these criteria:
- Annual revenue of $500 million or more.
- Growth rate of 50% or more.
- Total funding raised of $2 billion or more.
🚀 2 - Unicorn Adjacent
A company is almost a unicorn if all of the following apply:
- It is at least in Series C funding stage.
- Has raised at least $500 million in total funding.
- Owns at least 5 AI-related patents.
- Operates in a medium- to high-potential AI market.
- Has an annual growth rate of at least 30%.
🌱 1 - Potential Unicorn
An early-stage AI startup qualifies for this category if all of the following apply:
- It is in Seed, Series A, or Series B funding.
- Has a valuation under $1 billion.
- Has raised less than $500 million in total funding.
- Has few AI patents or limited market traction.
- Has a growth rate below 30%.
